Being a highly passionate and ambitious person definitely has its advantages.  You get things done, you exude confidence, you make your dreams a reality (or at least try).  On the other hand, being highly ambitious can also make it hard to remember all of the things you are grateful for and how far you have come.  When you are constantly working on "what's next" it's hard to appreciate the ground you have already covered, and the amazing things that you have accomplished.

It is important to never give up on your dreams and to work hard, but it is also important to well, "stop and smell the roses".  Try these simple steps to practice gratitude this week.

1.) Write down 5-10 things you are thankful for.

2.) Write down 3 things you think you have excelled at in your life.

3.) Send someone who has helped get you to where you are today a thank you note.

4.) Take the day off and reward yourself for all of your hard work!  No emails, no Instagram posts, just plain old R&R.

5.) Pay it forward.  Help someone else who is starting their own path of following their dreams.
